Nationwide Tour of Gowns, BABC

I had a great time on Sunday at the "Your Wedding TV" Bridal Show in Orlando! I was very happy to meet a few members of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) who welcomed me graciously into the BABC world. After quickly learning the ropes of our mission as "booth attendants", I spent the better part of the afternoon meeting Brides and Mothers, Grandmothers and more and familiarizing them with the Making Memories foundation and our involvement with Brides Against Breast Cancer. We sold raffle tickets for $1 each (benefitting the cause even more) to allow Brides a chance to WIN the wedding gown of their dreams, absolutely free! Quite the irresistable offer if you ask me!

I was also pleasantly surprised at the willingness of so many women to donate their gowns for the cause! Gowns are being collected for the big Nationwide Tour of Gowns, which is being held at the UCF Alumni Center in March 2009. There will be brand new gowns donated from designers and bridal salons, as well as the gently used kind from "have-been" Brides themselves. Proceeds are going to benefit the Making Memories foundation which is working hard to grant wishes for terminally ill Breast Cancer Patients. If you or someone you know is interested in donating a gown, I urge you to contact me: (386) 748-8764, simplybliss_weddings@yahoo.com for more info on the process.

Please check out BridesAgainstBreastCancer.Org to see the amazing things we're doing for these women and how your support makes all the difference!

YWTV Bridal Show, September 28th

I've been preparing for my volunteer role at this Sunday's show at the Wyndham in Orlando and I'm so happy to have this opportunity! I'll be on site working with other ABC (Association of Bridal Consultants) members promoting and informing Brides on the Brides Against Breast Cancer foundation. The message of the foundation itself is rather close to my heart and something I believe in 100%. If you're headed to the show, please stop by and check out our booth. We'd love to show you how easy it is to make a huge difference in the lives of others!

Extra (stylish) Baggage!

I thought these bags were pretty cute and fashionable for the Mother/Daughter Duo who tackles each aspect of the Wedding together. These are a great gift idea for Destination Weddings where staying organized and extra luggage is always expected! The "Mrs." bag is my favorite because of its everyday practicallity. Afterall, once you're married, that's your eternal title!

Vintage Flair: Shoes

If you've fallen in love with the thought of adding vintage charm and allure to your wedding day, consider your shoes. So maybe Mom's wedding dress isn't exactly what you had in mind, but what about her shoes? And not necessarily the same exact pair- but mirroring the style (granted it coordinates well with your own gown) may be a great way to stylishly honor the woman who gave you life on this most important day of it! Check out some local thrift shops and shoe stores for hands on browsing or you can peruse the Internet for some beauties like the ones shown here from Etsy.com
www.poshvintage.com also has a huge inventory of great vintage items ranging from apparel to shoes, bags and more!

Loving Bride: Seeking exquisite, original gift for Husband-To-Be!

Found!
As I browsed around for some new inspirations this evening, I came upon these little beauties. I am in love! These are such a perfect gift for your new husband because of how personal you can get with it. The map inside will be a location of your choice- his hometown, your honeymoon location, where you first met, etc. Imagine him unwrapping a small package to find such a big statement on his wedding day... just perfect! Check out Anne Holman at Etsy.Com for details.
